Four Corps Receives Honours Awards In FCT

In the latest developmant, a report has it that about four Corps Members that distinguished themselves with outstanding Community Development Service Projects among the 2017 Batch ‘A’ Stream One set that was deployed to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, received Honours Awards during a colourful passing-out ceremony held at FCT Orientation Camp, Kubwa yesterday.

The Awardees are; Ikpesu Ejiro Lucy – FCT/17A/2145, Akande Delayo Mercy – FCT/17A/0525, Ekeh Chimezie Obiora – FCT/17A/0340 and Omajala Theophilus – FCT/17A/0580. 
The FCT Minister, Alhaji Mohammad Musa Bello, while congratulating them on the successful completion of their service year, with high sense of responsibility urged them to use their service year experiences to live exemplary lifestyles. 
He commended them for executing different community development projects which has added value to their host communities. He said the projects would serve as lasting legacies. 
The Minister, who was represented at the ceremony by the FCT Secretary for Education, Senator Isah Maina, said that Corps Members’ projects has greatly contributed to the development the Federal Capital Territory. 
He advised the ex-Corps Members to be security conscious at all times as the go into a larger society. 
“It is important for you to make up your mind and use those skills which you acquired during the service year to engage in something meaningful rather than roam the streets looking for non-existing paid jobs,” the Minister said. 
The Chairman, NYSC FCT Governing Board, Alhaji Oladimeji Ali Hassan, said the board will continue to provide an enabling environment for Corps Members deployed to the FCT to develop their potentials. 
He also urged them to be good ambassadors of the NYSC Scheme. The Director-General, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure was represented at the ceremony by the Director, Special Duties Department, Mr Hilary Nasamu.
