When you tag a Facebook fan page — better known as a Facebook Page — in a status update, the tagged Facebook Page automatically receives an email notification, depending on the administrator’s notification settings.

Additionally, the tag becomes a link that your friends and extended networks can click to view the default landing tab for that Facebook Page.
a. Click inside the “What’s On Your Mind?” status box near the top of the page once you’ve logged on to Facebook.
b. Type “@” followed immediately by the name of a Facebook Page. Do not include the quotes or a space between “@” and the name of the Page.
c. Click the name of the Facebook Page when it appears below your cursor. This automatically inserts the name of the Page and turns it into a link.

d. Click the “Share” button below the status box to publish the the Facebook status. Anyone who can see your status can click the Facebook Page name to view its default landing page.
