It’s a shame BMW dropped it from the M-lineup because it gave the M cars a distinct identity and set them apart from the rest of the BMW lineup.
At the very least, the new M4 receives the same 6-speed manual as the outgoing M4. That gearbox, however, is only available with RWD in the base model. AWD Competition vehicles do not have this option. The manual gearbox was available on both ordinary and competition models of the original M4.
We Love The New M4: The Driving Dynamics
The new M4 is far more intelligent than the previous model. It has an all-new AWD system that provides more grip, less wheelspin, and hence better acceleration. The new M4 also features a ten-stage traction control system, 6-piston brakes, sturdier engine mounts, and the option of increasing the top speed to 180 mph.
The new M4 is a technologically advanced vehicle that is a thrill to drive. All of these safety measures, such as the dynamic differential that aids acceleration in the rain, snow, and other conditions, can be disabled. This vehicle has the potential to be a troublemaker.
The Previous Model Did Better: Drifting
