2021 Lincoln Navigator VS. (Infiniti QX80, 2021 Lexus LX And 2021 Cadillac Escalade)

Ford’s more upscale car division, Lincoln, revealed what would become the brand’s flagship model in July 1997.

The Lincoln Navigator is the world’s largest, most pretentious, and most opulent land yacht.

Surprisingly, the manufacture of this behemoth would be enough for Lincoln to achieve unparalleled success, even surpassing long-time rival Cadillac in total sales.

The Navigator is now more popular than ever (more than two decades later). The fact that the world is today obsessed with huge cars is one of the main reasons for their success.

It’s all about being in the right place at the right moment. But it’s important to remember that the world loves SUVs in general, not just the Lincoln Navigator.

This begs the question: Should you buy the Navigator over the plethora of other (apparently) excellent solutions now available on the market? There’s just one way to find out: through comparing and contrasting.

Navigator Comparison With The Infiniti QX80

The Infiniti QX80 is the first competitor we’ll look at. It’s a huge SUV with a restrained demeanor.

Unfortunately for the huge Japanese SUV, the only thing that makes it better is its beginning price, which is $6,000 cheaper than the Navigator’s $76,195.

The fact that this bulbous SUV from the Land of the Rising Sun hasn’t been updated in a long time, both in terms of appearance and technology, is one of its biggest flaws.

When comparing the Navigator’s twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine to the QX80’s 5.6-liter V8, however, the QX80’s main flaw becomes clear.

Despite the fact that the Infiniti’s engine is larger, the Ford’s is more powerful, with the Navigator producing 450 horsepower versus the QX80’s 400 horsepower.

Furthermore, the Lincoln gets 19 MPG on average, whilst the Infiniti only gets 16 MPG.

The Lexus LX comes next, which is quite dependable and safe. The Lexus, in contrast to the Infiniti, is more expensive than the Navigator, starting at $86,480.

However, you get full-time 4WD as standard with this price (4×4 drive is an optional extra for the Lincoln).

Because it is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, unlike most SUVs in this class, the LX is extremely capable off-road.

Interior cargo space, as well as power figures, are two areas where the LX falls short of the Lincoln.

The Lexus is also the least powerful of the three vehicles we’ve looked at so far, with only 383 horsepower.

To be honest, the vehicle could need a little more power, given it weighs in at roughly 6,000 pounds (for comparison, the Navigator weighs 5,673 lbs).

The last competitor we’ll look at is the Cadillac Escalade, which is the Navigator’s most deadly foe. To be honest, there aren’t many things that each of them does better than the other.

Both cars are about the same price, are about the same size, and have similar power outputs, and both come standard with rear-wheel drive.

When you look inside the cabin, you’ll see the only substantial differences. Both have terrific interiors, according to Motor Trend; it’s just that “they’ve just gone about it in very different ways.”

Essentially, the Navigator has a more classic style that harkens back to Lincoln’s golden years, whilst the Escalade has a more totally modern and futuristic design. So, in the end, it’s a toss-up between these two journeys.

Which is Preferable

After all of this, the question remains: which enormous high-end SUV should you buy? Unfortunately, there is no simple answer, as each SUV we’ve examined has both positive and negative characteristics.

However, if we were to pick only one vehicle, it would undoubtedly be a Range Rover. To be honest, all of the vehicles we’ve examined in this article are gigantic land yachts that are as opulent as they are attractive.

Obviously, that is the objective of these vehicles, but the Range Rover can accomplish everything these vehicles do and more.

Let’s face it, the Range Rover has been doing this since 1970, and they’ve learned pretty much all there is to know about luxury.
