Houssem Aouar One Step to the Emirates Stadium

Houssem Aouar is a Done Deal

Arsenal are looking to add a creative midfielder to their squad before the end of the transfer window, and Houssem Aouar of Lyon remains a target.
Last summer, the Gunners were widely connected with the French midfielder but were unable to complete a deal. Aouar is reportedly pressing for a move to the north London club in order to put his skills to the test in the Premier League, according to the Sun.

The 23-year-old has risen to popularity in recent years as a result of his performances for Lyon. Despite a dip in performance last season, he still scored seven goals and three assists in 30 league games to help them finish fourth in Ligue 1.

Arsenal has moved their emphasis to other targets after failing to sign Aouar last summer. James Maddison of Leicester City is one of them, with the Gunners prepared to pay £80 million for him. While Arsenal has proposed a player-plus-cash deal for the England playmaker, Leicester have refused to lower their asking price.

As a result, Arsenal may be tempted to return to Aouar. The Frenchman’s contract expires in 2023, and at roughly £30 million, he will be a considerably cheaper alternative to Maddison.

Is Houssem Aouar a Good Buy For Arsenal?

Arsenal’s dearth of creative midfield options has been widely documented. They only scored 55 goals last season, which was the second-lowest total among teams in the top half of the Premier League league. This could be due to the poor treatment of players like Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Nicolas Pepe.
If they want to compete for a Champions League position this season, they will need to recruit a player with flair and imagination, and Houssem Aouar fits the criteria.

Aouar is a technically adept midfielder with a wide variety of passing abilities who can break down defenses. He can dribble well and beat the press to push the ball fast up the field. He averaged 1.5 dribbles, 1.3 critical passes, and 2.3 shoots per game last season. He also completed 86 percent of the passes he attempted.

As a No. 10, he may play in central midfield or right behind the striker. He might play with Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka or Emile Smith Rowe in an Arsenal midfield three.
Given that he is less than half the price of James Maddison, Arsenal should make a move for the Frenchman a priority.

Many Sport News Outlets Have at Some Various Points Predicted Thus:

Houssem Aouar, a transfer target for Arsenal, has been offered a loan-to-buy agreement by Lyon, who are anxious to offload the midfielder (The Sun, August 26).

Arsenal are aiming to sell six more players before the deadline next week, mostly to raise finances to acquire Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid (Daily Express, August 25). Arsenal are ready to rekindle their interest in Trippier, but they’ll have to wait for Atletico Madrid to lower their asking price (The Sun, August 24). Following an inquiry from Arsenal, Atletico Madrid have refused to move on their stance that Trippier would not go for less than his £51 million release clause (Daily Mail, August 19)
