Tramontana XTR: Here Are Some Of Outstanding Features You Need to Know

The Tramontana XTR supercar is a high-powered track-based lightweight with a reputation for speed. The V12 engine in the XTR is incredibly powerful. This supercar is known for several things, one of which is its distinctive gold color plated interior, which was created by the Bulgarian firm Vilner.

Its conventional beauty, wild aesthetics and tremendous performance have surely helped to set it apart from its supercar competitors. This quick crowd-pleaser is a two-seater with a canopy that could have come from a fighter plane, inspired by a Formula One racer.

This is because a supercar may not be enough to make an impression these days, since it takes a unique vehicle to stir heads. New Audi, Mercedes, and BMW models compete with Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Porsches, but the XTR has yet to be matched.

Having the looks of a  racing car, part Eurofighter and part mechanized insect thanks to that sloping back and the two antenna-style mirrors.

Why this Massive Power?

The engine is a modified 5.5-liter Mercedes V12 that produces 876bhp and 677lb-ft of torque. The mid-mounted twin-turbo V12 drives the rear wheels through a seven-speed sequential transmission.

The entire XTR weighs only 1,268kg when it’s ready to go. It will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than 3.3 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in 10.15 seconds. The ride and handling, as well as the interior polish, are very impressive.

The suspension is supported by a carbon fiber chassis with tubular steel front and rear spaceframes. The engine is integrated into the structure, similar to an F1 racer, and the ground-hugging suspension has a hydraulic lift to clear ramps.

The XTR does not need many advertorials since it has been around for a while, but the SEMA display serves as a timely reminder of how unique it is. Take a look at that canopy that’s about to open! Look at the expression on its face!

There’s no news on pricing, but know that each Tramontana is built to your specifications, both inside and out. A 5.2-liter V10 is also available if you don’t want a V12 (not sure why that thought would even enter your head).

The Vilner Interior

The TramontanaforXTR is a road car by all standards and not a race car as some critics would assume it to be. It comes with a canopy, full climate control, comfortable leather trim, an LCD screen that contains vital information, plush carpet and a real sound system.

It can even raise itself hydraulically by 135mm to prevent expensive scrapes over speed-bumps and cope with potholes and other obstacles. None of this helps the weight, of course.

Although the R is 98kg lighter than the original, it still tips the scales at 1268kg without fluids.

The gear lever in the Jetfighter-style cabin is designed like a jet’s joystick. It’s a sequential shift with a clutch coupled to a six-speed Cima transmission (there’s also a semi-automatic paddle-shift option).

I would, however, forego the showy steering wheel in favor of a basic round one, as catching fresh air in the middle of a corner could be really uncool.

They run 1.4 bar of boost and are unobtrusive aside from the noise and low-down torque, but we haven’t engaged the entire works yet.

This automobile boaThe R can be pegged at a reasonably safe 550bhp for the commute to work until you press a button and let all hell break loose. It has a BMW M-style sanity mode, which is a tribute to everyday usability.

It’s an outlier of a car, one so rare that it makes the Zondas and Veyrons of the world seem common. They’re for men who already own a Zonda and a Veyron and want to stand out in opulent elegance among their peers.

The Oddball Exterior

The exterior is painted matte grey with gold highlights on the front fenders, side panels, and even the engine bay. The cabin, on the other hand, is where the supercar really shines.

But beyond the difficult exterior lies a plethora of engineering complexity, from the F1-level torsional rigidity and safety cell of the carbon fiber chassis to the fully adjustable Ohlins horizontal dampers with exposed reservoirs that look so nice when you remove the bonnet.

The Dymag wheels, which have carbon rims and magnesium cores, and the inline seats, which maintain the weight over the centerline, round out the package. With silver wire and gold componentry, things get even more obsessive under the skin.

If you choose the diamond-encrusted interior from the options list, the 385,000 Euro beginning price will skyrocket to a cool million.

Take it from me, buying one of the unique XTR cars means buying a piece of art that you would often sit and enjoy in the privacy of your climate-controlled garage with the aid of studio lighting, a plinth, a fine Cognac and a cigar.
