Hellcat Redeye – To keep it simple, Dodge is blowing the competition in the car manufacturing business out of proportion with horsepower performance. This can be seen with the challenger going into its 14th year since its debut in 2008 model year and is still more powerful than a McLaren Senna and quite cheaper than a BMW M5. Be it as it may, this is Europe’s idealogy of a performance car and it is working fantastically well. The wealth of comfort and modern technological advancement is enough to make you forget that you’re driving a road-bound ballistic missile.
The Challenger comes in five main trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat. The Hellcat Redeye has an aggressive look just like any supercar would and this aggressiveness is also seen in its performance even though it comes with a wry smile. The car is pretty hefty as Dodge claims it weighs 2038kg.
The Redeye drag racing features Bilstein adaptive dampers with Auto, Sport and Track modes, the standard six-piston Brembos with 390mm discs and the retuned suspension that’s set up with ‘road courses’ rather than drag strips. Balancing it with wheel arch extensions bursting with 305-section P Zero tires at each corner to ensure traction control.

The interior is adorned with modern facilities such as its infotainment system which is users friendly. Standard features include a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo, four USB ports, voice recognition, and Bluetooth.
Optional features include dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal garage door opener, a sunroof, an 8.4-inch touch screen, satellite radio, navigation, a six- or nine-speaker Alpine premium stereo, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo.

The Redeye comes with superbly comfortable armchairs to make driving more fun. Its massive steering wheel is is another sight to behold pushing you completely away from the front Pirellis. This supercharged V8 is set to roll as you blip the throttle. The resonance deep-chested howl and yep sound is an indication that fun has begun with this marvel as the car rocks against the torque.
By unleashing the full might of the engine, things get more dramatic with caution in mind certainly there will be no chaos. The Redeye performs really nicely although there’s body roll to contend with as the car doesn’t float or wallow. This muscle car has the full potential of being progressive despite its big footprint and slides with an easy-going poise. The Challenger is a no-mountain climber, this limitation is not much of a problem as the car can be driven pretty neatly with the front end responding swiftly and faithfully.
Relying on its eight-speed automatic gearbox whose performance is smooth enough with 707lb-ft. When it comes to sophistication, the Redeye is not the last word but it gets down a wide road pretty effectively with one major task to be carried out by the driver which is to select Track mode and give the brakes a little rest pretty regularly. The Redeye “less wild standard Hellcat’’ major setback from my assessment is having to stir the six-speed manual ’box as standard 717bhp and 656lb-ft lever manually. This does not erase the fact that the Redeye is a ludicrously powerful, absurdly overblown and thunderously noisy monster.
Safety
The safety features that come with the car include:
Blind-Spot Monitoring; This feature Illuminates either of the Challenger’s side mirrors when a vehicle enters its blind spot.
Forward Collision Warning; Another very useful feature is the forward collision warning which Helps prevent collisions by sounding an alert when the car detects an imminent impact.
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert; This is one unique feature that has made the Redeye so special by Sounding a warning if a vehicle is approaching the Challenger from the side while it’s backing into traffic.
