2021 Lamborghini Countach Is All About “Extreme”

Lamborghini has always been a brand known for its out-of-the-world masterpiece. It has been one of the leading luxury brands in the auto industry for decades and has not shown any sign of retiring soon. For a brand all about the extreme and a project based on the “most extreme”, anything other than an extreme statement would be ruining the brand story. Lamborghini Countach is an Extreme creation at its best. In the words of Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, “He states that the new Countach is “not retrospective”. Rather, it’s a forward-looking, expressive celebration of the brand’s DNA”.

The 2021 Countach is a bold, uncompromising, aesthetic, and visual statement with advanced aerodynamics. The Countach debuted more than 4 decades ago as a successor to one of the world’s most spectacular sports cars ever made, the Lamborghini Miura. Its boundary-breaking design in the automotive world has turned a good number of heads.

The Countach comes in a limited edition of 112 units and a homage to the original project number LP112. The car features a 12-cylinder hybrid with a staggering 769bhp that growls in a way only a 12 cylinder can do, while an electric motor adds another 34bhp to the output: a glimpse into the future of hybrid and fully electric Lamborghinis. Let’s take a quick look at some of its features.

The Exterior Styling

The 2021 Lamborghini Countach is a re-bodied Aventador with its distinctive features. The Italian supercar comes with a sharp and sleek front profile, sloping bonnet, flat and sharp-looking headlamps are among some design elements that take inspiration from the original Countach. All-new Countach doesn’t get the original model’s pop-up headlights and massive rear wing though. The Countach rides on 20-inch wheels in front and 21-inches outback. Thanks to standard rear-wheel steering, the exotic coupe shouldn’t be too hard to maneuver in tight spots. And if the driver encounters any speed bumps, there’s a front-axle-lift system that’s included to protect the car’s chin.

The Interior Design
While the exterior design of the new Countach appears retro-styled from the1970s, the cockpit is full of modern features and technologies. There is an 8.4 inch HDMI center touchscreen. The driver can manage car controls including Connectivity and Apple CarPlay from this. New Countach also gets a button called ‘Stile’. Pressing this button explains the Countach design philosophy to the user. The car has movable air vents produced by 3D printing technology and also has a photochromatic roof that can change from solid to transparent at the push of a button.

The Engine Performance

Underneath the Countach’s retro bodywork, which is made of lightweight carbon fiber, is a modern powertrain. Mounted in the middle of the car is an electrically assisted 6.5-liter V-12. A small electric motor draws power from a supercapacitor and combines it with the big gas engine to produce 802 total horsepower. This is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed automated manual transmission. Considering that the Countach allegedly weighs 3516 pounds dry the company’s claims that it’ll go from zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and reach 124 mph in 8.4 seconds don’t seem outlandish. Lamborghini also says it has a top speed of 221 mph.

Pricing of the 2021 Lamborghini Countach
The new Countach will start at $2.64 million. Of course, that’s just the base price as we expect the final figure will greatly fluctuate from customer to customer due to Lamborghini’s extensive list of features and bespoke options.
