Chrysler Airflow Concept; An EV With Technology At Its Best

Chrysler Airflow Concept – Chrysler, the American brand has been down to just two cars (the Pacifica minivan and the 300 sedan) for quite some time which raised concerns about the future of a brand that is so loved by millions across the globe.

The Emergence of the new Airflow Concept is certainly a light at the end of a tunnel for Chrysler and also proves that parent company Stellantis hasn’t forgotten about Chrysler altogether. This handsome-looking crossover concept is said to preview the next generation of Chrysler products, all of which are said to be EVs.

The all-new Airflow has a remarkable styling from the Chryslers of today, as it features slim headlights, a new corporate badge, and a fastback profile. The interior space looks crisp and minimalistic, with a panoramic sunroof and a lightly colored interior that affords it a calming vibe. It’s essentially Chrysler’s take on a day spa an image only broken by the presence of five display screens spread throughout the cabin.

The interior comes with an array of screens: a digital instrument panel in front of the driver, a touchscreen in the middle, and another for the passenger. There are two additional screens for backseat passengers. Information presented on each one is distinct, though information can be shared among all occupants. There are even cameras on each seat in case you need to video conference on the go.

Chrysler is calling the setup a “smart cockpit” and regular over-the-air (OTA) updates should help keep the system fresh and full of new features. It’s powered by a new electronic architecture that Chrysler says will allow developers to create features with ease. Below are more features from the Airflow concept you need to know.

The Airflow Concept gives rise to an elegant yet athletic profile with its low ride height, streamlined, two-tone roofline, and muscular haunches. More so, the long wheelbase and wide track, along with the large 22-inch wheels, contribute to a dramatic stance while also delivering “excellent handling and performance dynamics.” The Airflow Concept displays the Chrysler Wing logo on the car grille/light blade illuminated with the crystal LED lighting.

Its elegance cut across every aspect of the car. At the back, the crystal LED taillights are united by a light bar that accentuates the vehicle’s wide stance, with illuminated Airflow lettering placed between the lamps. Despite using an illustrious name from Chrysler’s past, the only reference to aerodynamics in the press release is about the “aerodynamic, smooth underbody” that helps the car achieve optimum driving range.

The Technologically driven Interior
It is seen with all sense of technological advancement that the Chrysler Airflow evokes an open, airy lounge area thanks to the panoramic roof, functional and ambient lighting, soft leather seats resting on a pedestal base, and technology that is integrated seamlessly in the cabin in the form of dark glass sculptures. The crystalized textures on the start/stop button and steering wheel controls are a nice touch.

Stay tuned as The Airflow integrates the new STLA Brain electrical/electronic (E/E) and software architecture and STLA SmartCockpit to deliver seamless connectivity for drivers and passengers. The cabin is a connected hub that brings a consumer’s digital lifestyle into the vehicle, with advanced technology creating a customized space for each occupant.

The concept infotainment comes with a user-friendly interface that employs a multi-layered and high-contrast graphics appearance. Sticking to the menu-based format, the screens can be personalized, simplified, and grouped based on individuals and interests.

Interactions on the large touch screen can do with everyone on board the vehicle by swiping, with each screen acting as a personalized space to access the digital world via connected entertainment, apps, and downloads. There’s even a built-in camera in each seat that enables occupants to participate in a group video conference.

The Airflow Concept benefits from over-the-air (OTA) updates as well as AI-based applications such as navigation, voice assistance, an e-commerce marketplace, and payment services.
