Things We Know About The 2022 Ferrari Roma

The 2022 Ferrari Roma is a 2+2 that has a sublime proportion. The classic, coupé-bodied Roma features exceptional pristine surfaces. Going by the present deliveries, it might be the most dazzling achievement yet of Ferrari’s own in-house Centro Stile design department with some lovely detailing.

In the Ferrari lineup, the Roma is the GT torchbearer and it fills that role with ease striving to achieve a mix of timeless elegance, modern cutting-edge styling, and technical prowess. It’s some 200 kg (440 lbs.) lighter than the Portofino and thus capable of playing even harder with Ferrari’s award-winning F154 engine.

The little drawback to this lovely piece of artwork is the fact that its back seats are usable only for smaller adults and kids. However, the seats are soft and comfortable over a distance. Looking at its infotainment system which happens to be very new, makes cruising with the Roma worthwhile. Under the hood is a 611-horsepower V8 engine that should more than satisfy most drivers.

The 2022 Ferrari Roma is a four-seat sports coupe that is offered in a single trim level. All Romas are powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine (611 horsepower, 561 lb-ft of torque) that is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels.

Roma Interior Design
The cabin features comfortable and electronically adjustable seats and plenty of steering wheel adjustment. Just like other focused sports cars such as the McLaren 570GT or Lamborghini Huracán, Roman comes with a low-slung driving position too. However, this driving position poses some challenges for the driver when it comes to visibility.

The interior also features a sculpted design that replicates the simple lines found on the outside of the car. The uncluttered dashboard and wrap-around design of the Roma are arguably the best in the current Ferrari range. Swathes of carbon fiber and leather adorn the car’s interior as well.

The 2022 Ferrari Roma comes with a dual-screen ‘human-machine interface’ serving as a digital instrument screen and a portrait-oriented infotainment screen which it inherited from the SF90 Stradale. The 16in instrument screen is controlled via a haptic thumbpad on one of the spokes of the new steering wheel.

The Roma boasts of some inspiring boot space that measures up to around 272 liters with the rear seats up. More space can be created once the rear seats are folded down bringing the total space to 345 liters.

Roma Engine Performance
The 2022 Ferrari Roma comes with a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that churns out no less than 612 horsepower helping the Roma attain 62 mph (100 kph) in just 3.4 seconds. Downstream of the engine, there’s an eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle gearbox derived from the one on the SF90 plug-in hybrid supercar, which has a broader spread of ratios than the Portofino’s seven-speeder and sits lower in the rear of the car.

Ferrari Roma vs. Aston Martin DB11
Both cars rank almost the same in terms of price, size, and styling. The Roma has a power advantage over the Aston Martin DB11 as well as a user-friendly infotainment system.

Ferrari Roma vs. McLaren GT
While the Roma is more of a true GT, the McLaren GT is more of a supercar that was watered down to make it a bit more comfortable and convenient. The McLaren GT is still very much a brash mid-engine sports car with a stiffer ride and few creature comforts when compared to rivals. If performance is your priority, the McLaren may be worth a look.
