Our Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ doesn’t differ significantly from the Galaxy S21+ from 2021, and many may find no incentive to upgrade – it’s essentially the same design and experience, albeit with minor tweaks. It also suffers from being in the shadow of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which was just updated.
This is a shift from 2021: with the addition of the S Pen to the top S22 Ultra, some may believe the phone is moving in a direction they don’t want to go.
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is a fantastic phone at its heart. It’s well-made, has a wonderful display and audio, is easy to use, and has a decent battery life. For a little less money, you may enjoy a similar experience with the S21 FE or S21+.
If you’re upgrading from an older Samsung phone, the Galaxy S22+ makes a lot of sense: it’ll perform well in all areas, but it won’t be a significant upgrade over the prior model.
