Iphone 14 Expected Specifications and Release Date

The most recent iPhone 14 series from Apple, which was unveiled on September 7, 2022 during the “Far Out” event, has been available for some time. The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max are the four devices that make up the most recent iPhone generation.

This year’s lack of a “small” model has been replaced by the iPhone 14 Plus, a larger, more affordable iPhone. It has similar internals to the standard iPhone 14, but has a 6.7-inch display that is much larger, making it a more affordable alternative to the more expensive and high-end iPhone 14 Pro Max.

A list of everything you need to know about the iPhone 14 series is provided below.

iPhone 14 Release Date and Availability

At Apple’s “Far Out” presentation on September 7, 2022, which was held earlier than usual, the iPhone 14-series was unveiled (normally, Apple hosts its iPhone announcement events on the second Tuesday of September, which would have been September 13 this year).

On September 9, pre-orders for the iPhone 14 series will become available. September 16, 2022, will see the market debut of the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 Plus, meanwhile, will go on sale on October 7.

Here are all iPhone releases since 2018, for reference, so we can see how the most recent iPhone 14 announcement and launch compare. The Apple iPhone release schedule is provided below for your convenience, starting in 2018 and including the iPhone 14 and its anticipated release date.

iPhone 14 Price

The starting pricing for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus were maintained by Apple at $799 and $899, respectively, despite speculations of a general price increase. The starting prices for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max were also maintained at $999 and $1099, respectively.

Specs of the Apple iPhone 14

Curious in the features of the iPhone 14-series? The top models now have a new chipset, better displays, faster RAM, and ultimately, all models must now support the iPhone 14 eSIM, as none of the phones in the US have physical SIM slots. Here is a brief summary:

Camera

Although the main camera on the iPhone 14 isn’t upgraded to 48MP like the iPhone 14 Pro series is, it does have improved cameras in its own unique style. Compared to the iPhone 13, the primary 12MP wide camera has a bigger sensor with 1.9 micron pixels and a quicker f/1.7 aperture. You can anticipate improved action pictures and low-light performance as a result.

The iPhone 14 also has an ultrawide camera, which is expected to capture 4 times more of a scene and perform 2 times better in low light. Additionally, the TrueDepth camera features a faster f/1.9 aperture and focuses for the first time. There is a new computational photography tool called Photonic Engine that aims to assist photographers capture brighter pictures all around.

Performance

The chip in the iPhone 14 is both new and dated at the same time. With its 5-core GPU, the A15 Bionic from the iPhone 13 Pro from last year offers a small improvement in graphics performance.

In my testing, I was pleased with Oceanhorn 2’s console-like aesthetics (a Zelda-like adventure title). I was in awe by the water at a pier and the shifting light that was reflected off the waves.

Battery Life and Charging

Our Battery Test, which involves continuous 5G web browsing at a screen brightness of 150 nits, is also something we do with the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 had a 9-hour, 28-minute battery life. The Galaxy S22 (8:02) and Google Pixel 7 are outperformed by this duration, albeit it’s not enough to make our list of top phone battery life (7:14).

Since the iPhone 14 continues to use 20W charging, our charge time findings are not shocking. The phone’s 54% completion rate in 30 minutes is somewhat higher than Apple’s 50% guarantee. And in just 15 minutes, we reached 27%.
