– How Can I Measure Facebook Fan Traffic?
According to the Facebook help centre, if you choose to keep Messenger active or are logged into Messenger when you deactivate your Facebook account, then Messenger will remain active. What this simply means is, even if you deactivate your account, you can still chat up your friends via Facebook Messenger. Here’s how.
1. Log in to your Facebook account
2. Click the three lines icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
3. From the drop-down menu, select “Setting & Privacy.”
4. Next, click account settings
5. Click “General.”
6. Click “Manage Account.”
7. Click “Deactivate.” You may be asked to enter your password after doing so.
8. You need to scroll down and click the circle to the left of the option that best describes why you want to deactivate your account. Remember, you can click the circle next to “Other, please explain further:” if you want to enter your own reason.
Note that if you choose “This is temporary. I’ll be back.” Facebook will set your account to automatically reactivate after seven days. This setting can be customized to anywhere between one and seven days, but you can’t stop the reactivation from happening. So, if you don’t want your account to automatically reactivate, you’ll need to select a different choice for why you’re deactivating your account.
9. Mind you that depending on your choice, a window may appear describing how you can address the issue without deactivating your account. If you want to continue with the deactivation process, click “Close.” This step is optional.
10. This step is also optional. When you deactivate your account, you may still receive emails from Facebook related to things like event invitations and photos you’ve been tagged in. Click the box to the left of “Opt out of receiving future emails from Facebook” to prevent Facebook from sending these emails.
11. Having performed step 10 above, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click “Deactivate.” This will log you out of the Facebook app and deactivate your account.
