Dmytro Shymkiv: The future belongs to the symbiosis of high technologies and medicine

According to Dmytro Shymkiv, the chairman of the board of directors of Darnitsa Group, the symbiosis of high technologies and medicine in the world will deepen in the coming years. The important role of IT technologies in the health care systems of many countries has been magnified significantly under the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Shymkiv’s forecasts, the development of high technologies and their introduction into medicine will keep accelerating every year. The top manager said that the first to grow would be the number of in silico studies based on computer modeling of biological experiments.

This is precisely the method that will become a priority and will precede laboratory research in vitro and experiments on living organisms – in vivo.

Shymkiv is confident that thanks to in silico research it will be possible to recognize and predict the behavior of the virus and the body’s response to it. This will significantly shorten the development terms for research in vitro and in vivo, as well as accelerate the search of complex molecules that will make it possible to treat severe or rare diseases.

Another area, which according to the chairman of the Darnitsa Group board of directors will rapidly progress in the near future is artificial intelligence, collection, and analysis of a huge amount of information data.

This will allow us to predict treatment approaches and therapy results much faster and more accurately. With the help of artificial intelligence and a huge database, it will be possible to simulate disease-fighting tactics using statistics from molecular, clinical, and other studies.

A large amount of information verified by pharmacists and doctors will make it possible to reduce the time for establishing a diagnosis, searching for the treatment approach, and determining directions of action in each specific case.

In addition, according to Dmytro Shymkiv, in the world and in particular in Ukraine there has been a persistent tendency to attract robotics and microtechnology to medicine to detect health problems and diagnose various diseases.

“Darnitsa”, in return, is actively working on the issue of increasing the accuracy of diagnostics and predictions of potential diseases, taking into account one’s genetics. Alongside scientific research, the concern constantly invests in the development of new drugs so that consumers receive the latest and most effective ones.
