The Mercedes Benz G-Wagon is the company’s longest production car, and it has the same bones as its predecessors from the 1970s and 1980s. The AMG G 63, on the other hand, is an overpowering, overweight SUV that can frequently be found in LA grocery store parking lots.

Off-Road Ability
There are better options when it comes to purchasing a fancy, ultimate luxury SUV. The Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus are similar in price but offer more power, luxurious furnishings, and a more flamboyant appearance.
The G63 is also lacking in terms of luxury features compared to comparable top-of-the-line SUVs. The tailgate is very heavy, there is no push to close the button, and there is no luxury feeling when a muscle is straining to close the tailgate. In addition, the back seats are identical.
The Bentley Bentayga’s rear seats will feel more luxurious and less utilitarian than the front seats, which is to be expected for a car at this pricing point.
The G63 has a small wheelbase, which means there isn’t much legroom in the back. Despite this, there is plenty of headroom in the automobile. Other super SUVs have a full panoramic roof, some of which can alter the quantity of light that enters the vehicle; the G63, on the other hand, has only a tilting sunroof.
Why Is The G63 Overhyped?
The Mercedes-AMG G63 is the company’s top-of-the-line vehicle. It costs roughly $160,000, which is out of reach for most people. Mercedes, like many other brands, does not want to sell the AMG G63 to just anyone.
Sure, they have other manufacturing plans for everyday automobiles like the A-class or C-Class, but the G-Class caters to a specialized demographic.
Celebrities and wealthy social media influencers are among those who purchase the G-Class, particularly the AMG G63. As a result, getting your hands on one becomes more difficult, and individuals are willing to pay a higher price. We don’t want to get into too much detail on the G63’s marketing, but there are a few other points to discuss.
The G63 AMG’s handling has improved from the previous model, the W-463, which lacked significant handling responsiveness. With the older W-464, you could turn the steering wheel quickly left and right and the car would stay straight, but this has altered slightly with the current W-464.
The driver’s visibility is another reason why the G63 is overhyped and does not deserve as much praise. The low-profile window provides limited visibility, which is exacerbated when speeding through a turn.
The driving position is high enough to see the entire hood of the G63, which is complemented by 360-degree cameras.
