It may interest you to know that new users are still signing up accounts on a daily basis.
However, nowadays, a lot of Facebook users have been experiencing Facebook hacking of accounts by other unscrupulous members of the platform.
Aside from facebook hacking of account, some users can’t have access to their accounts due to one reason or the other.
If you’re a Facebook veteran, you’ll, however, come to terms with me that the issue is not new neither is it strange.
So if you had experienced one, bear in mind that there is always a way to regain access to your lost facebook account.
Fortunately, this post will show you the steps you need to follow to recover your Facebook account.
This article will provide you with all you need to do to recover your hacked facebook account, how to recover your facebook account lost due to forgotten password, and how to recover old facebook account.
How To Recover Facebook Account If Lost Password
Perhaps it’s been a while since you signed on to Facebook for the last time, or maybe you just started your account and can’t remember the email address or phone number you used to create it.
Fortunately, there are some ways to get back to Facebook easily even without an email or telephone number.
So if you can’t access your Facebook account due to your inability to recall your password, you can recover the account by following the below steps.
If using your normal login details you are unable to login to Facebook, try using an alternate email address or phone number.
If you’ve listed your account with more than one email address or phone number, but still remember your username, it could be all you need to do.
It is important to note here that peradventure you’re unable to have access to your account via your normal login credential, that your Facebook account may have been compromised with by hackers. So when once you regain access, change your password and strengthen your account security by enabling 2-factor authentication. See how to enable 2FA below.
1. Go to the top right corner of your account and click on the V-shaped icon
2. Click Settings from the drop-down menu
3. Locate and click Security and Login at the left column of the general settings page
4. Scroll down the page and you see Use two-factor authentication under two-factor authentication. Click on it
5. Re-enter your password and then click Continue at the bottom right of the popup box
6. Choose to receive code sent to your mobile phone or email address whenever you want to login to your Facebook account.
Another means with which you can attempt to recover your lost Facebook account is to use the identity verification checker.
Fortunately, this strategy will help you find your account by using your Facebook username or full name.
That will prompt lists of names to appear. You’ll need to select this is my account if you’ve seen anyone with your profile photo.
Now, a new popup will display with an option for you to request a recovery code. You can either choose to receive the recovery code via your email address or mobile phone.
Select the option you prefer and click send code. Once the code is sent to your phone number or email address, enter it into the space provided and click continue.
Enter your new password. Re-enter it again to confirm. Finally, click submit and you’ll regain access to your Facebook account.
Here is a quick recap:
1. On facebook.com, navigate to the Facebook Forgot Password option and click on it.
2. Type either your email or mobile number or username or full name in the text box
3. Click search.
For those of us that aren’t sure of what username is, your username is a unique Facebook identity, that you may find in your profile URL. A typical example: https://www.facebook.com/carter.
Let’s assume that the above facebook profile url belongs to your profile, the carter at the end of the link is your facebook username.
If however, you’re yet to set up your Facebook username, you may see something like this one: https://www.facewbook.com/kelly.hansan.4421. The last part, kelly.hansan.4421, is your username.
Bear in mind that you can ask your friends to confirm it for you if you’re not too certain.
4. Click on your profile with a recovery email address and mobile number if any.
5. Choose a mobile number or email address that you can have access to
6. Finally, click Continue.
7. Go to your email if you choose to get the recovery code via it or your mobile phone whichever. Copy the code and enter it in the box
8. Click continue
9. On the next page, enter your new password, re-enter to confirm it and then click submit and your facebook account will be back.
That is how to recover your Facebook account.
