The feature allows Facebook users, similar to Snapchat’s Bitmoji, to create a cartoon avatar of themselves. They could use the avatar in comments, Facebook stories, and messenger.

If you can’t wait to try out the latest feature, follow the steps below to create your own Facebook avatar. In the Facebook app on iOS, these screenshots are taken, but in the Android version, the steps are identical.

Step 1: On your iOS or Android phone, open up the Facebook app. In the bottom-right corner of your screen, press the three horizontal lines.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap “See More.”
Step 3: Tap on “Avatars.”
Step 4: Tap “Next” then “Get Started.”
Step 5: Pick a skin tone that suits your best, then press “Next.”
Step 6: Now, go through and hairstyle segment, hair color, face shape, eye shape and color, makeup, eyebrows, nose shape, facial hair, body shape, dress, etc., and tailor your avatar to your liking.
If you want to get down to the extreme specifics, there’s even a section for facial lines and complexion.
Tap on the mirror icon at the top right of the screen to open your phone’s front-facing camera if you need a reminder of what you really look like.
Step 7: Tap the checkmark in the upper right corner of your screen if you’re done customizing your avatar and are pleased with how it looks.
Step 8: Tap ‘Next‘ once the screen finishes loading.
Step 9: Tap “Done.“

Yay!-Yay! -Yay! Yay! Now that you have finished making your avatar, you can tap the arrow sign on the upper right to share it with your Facebook feed or set it as a temporary profile image.

Tap on the sticker icon (the smiling square below the arrow) to see the various Avatar stickers, or click on the pencil icon if you would like to make any changes to your Avatar.

Simply tap the smiley face next to the gif icon and then tap the avatar icon at the bottom of the screen to use the avatar when making comments (fourth from the left).
