One remarkable feature is that Events let you organize and respond to gatherings in the real world with people on Facebook. 
You can create or attend an event for anything from a birthday dinner to a school fundraiser. When you create an event, you can control who sees or joins your event. When creating an event, the host can choose between the following privacy settings:
  • Private Event: Visible only to the people who are invited. You can choose to allow guests to invite their friends. People who are invited can view the event description, photos, Wall posts, and videos.
  • Public Event: Visible to anyone on or off Facebook. Anyone can see things like the event description, photos, event discussion, and videos.
Note: Once you create an event, you won’t be able to change the event’s privacy settings.

How do I create an event?

To create a private or public Facebook event from your computer:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account from your preferred browser.
  2. From your News Feed, click Events in the left menu.
  3. Click + Create Event on the left side.
  4. Click to choose between a private or public event. If you’re creating a public event, you can set the event’s host as yourself or a page you manage. You will not able to change the privacy settings once you’ve created the event. so be sure about this.
  5. Fill in the event name, details, location and time.
  6. Click Create. You’ll be taken to your event where you can invite guests, upload photos, add a cover photo or video, share posts and edit event details.
Note: Only Pages and not personal profiles, can create recurring events. Learn more about the difference between a Page and a profile.
To edit an existing event from your computer:
  1. From your News Feed, click Events in the left menu.
  2. Click Edit next to the name of your upcoming event.
  3. Change the event name, location, time, description or co-hosts.
  4. Click Save.

To create a Facebook event using your basic mobile browsers:

This is not to be confused with Android phone browsers. Basic mobile browser refers to non-Android phone browsers, regular phone browsers.
  1. From your News Feed, tap Menu at the top, then tap Events.
  2. Tap Create Event.
  3. Fill in the event name, details, location, time and date. Keep in mind that you must include an event name and time.
  4. Choose your privacy settings. You can’t change the privacy settings of an event once it’s created.
  5. Tap Continue.
  6. Tap to select friends to invite to your event or tap Skip.
You’ll be taken to your event where you can share posts, invite more guests, add a cover photo or video and edit event details.

To edit an existing event using your mobile browser:

  1. From your News Feed, tap Menu at the top, then tap Events.
  2. Tap Events I’m Hosting and tap View Event.
  3. Tap Edit to change the name, location, time or details.
  4. Tap Save.

To create a Facebook event using your Android mobile browser:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account using your preferred browser.
  2. From your news feed page, tap the 3-parallel-lines icon then tap Events.
  3. Tap “+” and fill in the event name, details, location, date and time. Please note that you must include an event name and time.
  4. Tap Privacy to choose the audience you want to share your event with. You can’t change the privacy of an event once it’s created.
  5. Tap Create.
You’ll be taken to your event where you can share posts, upload photos, add a cover photo or video, invite more guests and edit event details.

To edit an existing Facebook event using your mobile browser:

  1. Tap the 3-parallel-lines icon then tap Events.
  2. Tap Hosting in the top right and select your event.

To create an event in the Facebook for Android app:

  1. Tap the 3-parallel-lines icon then tap Events.
  2. Tap {+} in the bottom right, then tap Private Event at the top of the screen to choose a privacy setting. If you’re creating a public event, you can set the event’s host as yourself or a page you manage. You can’t change an event’s privacy once it’s created.
  3. Fill in the event name, details, location and time. If you’re creating a public event, you can:
    • Select a category for your event
    • Add a link to a ticketing website for your event
  4. Tap Create or Next.
If you’re creating a public event, you’ll need to choose a time for the event to be published, then tap Publish.
You’ll be taken to your event where you can invite guests, share posts, upload photos, add a cover photo or video and edit event details.

To edit an existing event in the Facebook for Android app:

  1. Tap  3 parallel-lines then tap Events.
  2. Tap Hosting in the top right and select your event.

  4. Fill in the event info. Keep in mind that you must include an event name and time.
  5. Tap Create Event.
  6. Search for friends to invite to your event. Tap to select them, then tap Next.
You’ll be taken to your event where you can invite guests, share posts, upload photos, and edit event details.
Note: You can’t edit events from Facebook Lite.

To create an event in the Facebook for iPhone app:

  1. Tap the 3-parallel-lines icon then tap Events.
