How to Search a Conversation on Facebook Messenger

If you want to search for old conversations on Facebook Messenger, do the following;

1. First, log into your Facebook account by entering https://www.facebook.com/ in your browser. This will open a Facebook homepage with Login options for you to enter your email address and password and then click on the Login button to which will enable you to access your Facebook homepage.

2. Next, navigate to the right corner of your Facebook homepage and click on the Messenger icon. This is located at the upper-left part of your Facebook homepage.

3. When you perform step two above, it’ll prompt your recent Messenger conversations to show up. Click on the Show All option at the bottom-most part of the conversation box that displays.

4. Clicking on the show all option as described above, will display the list of all of your Messenger conversations. Next, click on the conversation where you want to search.

5. Click on the “Search in Conversation” option. This is located in the right part of the screen.

6. That will prompt a search bar to appear in the upper part of the conversation. To continue, type in the keyword you want to search. Note that the keyword can be anything that you or your friend typed in your conversation. Remember as many details or critical words from old conversation to search faster.

7. Once done entering the keyword, click on the Search button.

8. Note that Facebook Initiates the search based on the entered keyword. Results are displayed in the upper part of the conversation. Matches based on the results are highlighted in yellow.

9. Navigate through the result by using the move up or down buttons. Finally, choose conversation you’re looking and you’re done.
