Verizon Stream TV Gen 2

Verizon Stream TV Gen 2 comes with WiFi 6 for only $69.99

The Stream TV Gen 2 streaming device, which is powered by Android TV, is now available through Verizon Wireless. It comes with a new Verizon user interface and can be purchased for $69.99 right now. The original model’s software, which was introduced in February, will also be updated, with new UI and navigation improvements.

The Verizon Stream TV Gen 2 is a more elegant version of the Verizon Stream TV Gen 1 that was released earlier this year. The first Stream TV looked just like a standard set-top box, in case you didn’t know. On the other hand, the present version resembles a compact soundbar.

The device’s exact properties, however, are unknown. However, it is said that 4K streaming, HDR10, and HDR10+ are supported. The new model comes pre-loaded with Netflix, unlike the previous model, which was certified for Netflix after it was introduced.

YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, ESPN+, Yahoo, Pluto TV, HBO Max, and Starz are among the other platforms supported by the streaming gadget. In addition to these services, users can download a range of other apps and games through the Google Play Store.

Furthermore, the Verizon Stream TV Gen 2 comes with dual-band WiFi 6, which is uncommon in this market. Finally, it comes with Chromecast Built-in and a Google Assistant remote control, as well as a wall mount bracket, as an Android TV device.

On the other hand, new Verizon Fios and 5G Home customers will get this streaming device for free. Additionally, the company has released the Stream TV Mobile app, which allows customers to search for, purchase, and watch VOD purchases.

The new Stream TV is unique in that it is the first Android TV box to include the Amlogic S905X4 processor. It supports the AV1 codec, which is required by all new Android TV devices. This is great news, especially since other Google services, such as Stadia, are adopting the technology.

Over the previous year, the operator tier, which allows for more flexibility, has been a crucial element of Android TV’s growth. This allows for the heavily-skinned new UI of the Stream TV. The homescreen of the Android TV has been completely revamped, with content recommendations at the top and apps directly below. It’s a great design, but it’s not the same as what Google offers its consumers. In the near future, Verizon will provide this UI for the old Stream TV.

What is New

A variety of additional remote features are included with the new Stream TV. One such feature is one-touch access to Google Assistant voice search and controls, which allows users to search for material or execute tasks using voice commands. Additionally, if the remote is lost, hitting the Stream TV power button twice will cause the remote to beep until one of its buttons is pressed.

Support for Wi-Fi 6 dual-band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz connectivity and the Stream TV mobile app are also included.
