The one rule that stops most scams
No website, app, agent or person can release your result, force your admission, fix your status, or upgrade your score for a fee. JAMB will never ask for your password or OTP. If anyone offers these, they are defrauding you.
Common JAMB scams
- Fake JAMB agents — people who charge to "help" with things you can do yourself for free on the official portal.
- Fake admission agents — anyone "guaranteeing" admission for money. Admission is only valid through CAPS.
- Fake result-checking services — sites that ask for your JAMB login to "check" your result. That is phishing.
- Phishing pages — lookalike sites (names like "jamb-2026" or "jambgovng") built to steal logins. The only official portal is efacility.jamb.gov.ng.
- Fake CBT registration offers — "special" registration for a fee outside accredited centres.
- OTP / password requests — nobody legitimate needs these. Never share them.
- Fake scholarship offers — asking for a "processing fee" to release a scholarship.
- Fake payment pages — pages that take your card details for "JAMB fees" outside official channels.
How to stay safe
- Only use efacility.jamb.gov.ng (portal) and support.jamb.gov.ng (support).
- Do everything you can yourself — registration, checking results, CAPS — so no agent holds your details.
- Never share your password, OTP, or NIN with anyone, including people claiming to be "support" in your DMs.
- Check the web address carefully before logging in. Official JAMB sites end in jamb.gov.ng.
- If an offer sounds guaranteed or urgent, that is the warning sign.
