Fast And The Furious Cars

The Fast and the Furious franchise have been around for decades now impacting positively on cars enthusiasts as the movie franchise features classic cars with groundbreaking stunts that leave its audience speechless. In two decades, the franchise has released about 9 installments with each having its own uniqueness.

As the name implies “Fast and the Furious” this movie features characters that are very skilled in manning the wheels of some of the most notorious cars that have ever surfaced on the planet earth. This is one of the movies that showcase a range of performance automobiles and is always exciting to watch the display. Here are some of the beasts featured in the Fast and Furious movie.

1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Fast And The Furious Cars – The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray featured in Fast Five when Dom, Mia, Vince and Brian were stealing cars from a train. The stunt that the Stingray pulled was phenomenal. Notably, this was one of the ’60s most iconic cars whose design and power was unrivaled. Under the hood of the Stingray lies a 502 big-block engine that produces a massive 457bhp. In the movie, Dom saves O’Connor but unluckily, the car went down a cliff in an attempt to evade the bad guys.

Mazda RX-7 FD (Han’s RX)

This is another beast that surfaces on Fast and Furious and there is no questioning about why it was there as the Mazda RX-7 FD won the best car award at the Grand Prix show in 2005. It comes with a rotary engine and a custom body built. The car comes with a 1.3-liter, 13B rotary engine that produced 302bhp and 347Nm of torque. This machine and the success it recorded at the Tokyo Drift will remain a topic of discussion for generations to come.

Toyota Supra Mk-IV
How lovely to see the Supra Mk-IV being restored by the lead characters themselves in the movie (Toretto and O’Connor). The car was O’Connor primary car throughout the movie. The car had its original 2JZ engine that produced over 540bhp with 97bhp of NOS system which went up to almost 300kmph, the car undoubtedly makes a 0-100km in just 4.3 seconds. What a performance.

1966 Ford GT40
The Le Mans race Ferrari killer is by all standards qualified to be a part of this phenomenal show. It featured in the 5th part of the franchise with its multiple wins at the Le Mans race saluting it. The role to house a chip that holds information on houses that have $100 million, in the movie couldn’t have been best handled by any other car but the GT40.

1970 Ford Escort RS1600

The original 1970 Ford Escort RS1600 was powered by Cosworth’s 16-valve 1.6-liter “BDA” four-cylinder engine, which made roughly 113 hp. The RS1600 and RS2000 were fantastic in their own right with the RS1600 featuring in Fast & Furious 6. This special small but mighty car was famous in the late 1960s and through the mid-1970s. Challenging a tank in the sixth Fast film is not a position most cars will want to take but the RS1600 made it with so much confidence.

Honda S2000
Fast 2 Furious featured a supercharged Honda S2000. Don’t be carried away by its miniature size because this is another iconic roadster and the very first to be produced by Honda. the jump scene over the bridge by the S2000 surely made it one of the unforgettable moments of the franchise. The S2000 came with a 2-liter in-line 4 engine with a Comptech supercharger. The car produced 345bhp.

2010 Dodge Charger SRT-8
The towing power of this car was seen In Fast five when Toretto and O’Connor drive matte black 2010 Charger SRT8’s to steal an entire vault, ripping it off a wall and dragging it across the roads of Rio De Janerio. It has a 6.1-liter, V8 Hemi engine that produces 425bhp, enough to haul the ten-tonne vault around the city.

Hobbs’ Gurkha LAPV
Are you looking for a vehicle that can break other cars, break walls and basically crush everything that dared to cross its path? Then The Gurkha is that vehicle. This 6.7-liter V8 engine that produces 325bhp and over 1000Nm of torque was made by Terradyne Armored Vehicles. Luke Hobbs used it in Fast Five.
