Verification status: these combinations reflect the widely used requirements for each course. Requirements can differ by institution — always confirm your exact course and institution in the current official JAMB brochure (IBASS) before registering.

How subject combinations work

Every UTME candidate sits four subjects. Use of English is compulsory for everyone; the other three must match the course you're applying for. Choosing the wrong combination is one of the most common — and most painful — registration mistakes, because it can rule you out of your course before you even sit the exam.

Before you register

Confirm three things: the exact combination for your course at your chosen institution, whether the institution accepts your O'Level subjects, and whether the course has any special requirements. The official JAMB brochure is the final authority on all three.
