What is the JAMB mock exam?
The JAMB mock exam is an optional practice Computer-Based Test (CBT) organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) a few weeks before the main Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). It is designed to simulate the real exam environment — the same CBT interface, the same style of questions and the same time pressure — so that candidates know what to expect on the day of the main exam.
Crucially, the mock is not compulsory and its score does not count towards admission. You take it only if you selected the mock option during your UTME registration. Its whole purpose is preparation: to help you get comfortable with the computer-based format, practise managing your time, and discover which topics you still need to revise before the exam that actually counts.

- Date (2026): JAMB scheduled the optional Mock-UTME for 28 March 2026, ahead of the main UTME window of 16–25 April 2026.
- Optional: you must opt in during registration — it cannot be added later.
- Score: the mock does not count towards your UTME result or admission.
