Privacy policy

This site stores practice progress on your own device, asks for nothing it doesn't need, and explains exactly how advertising works.

Last updated: 23 September 2026

In short: Belmadeng has no user accounts and asks for nothing it does not need. Your practice progress is stored on your own device, not on our servers. We show advertising through Google AdSense, and this policy explains what that involves and the choices you have.

Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the website belmadeng.com ("Belmadeng", "we", "us"), an independent educational platform operated from Nigeria. For any privacy question, contact [email protected].

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to fix reported problems.
  • Information stored on your device. Your CBT practice progress and preferences are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We cannot see or retrieve it, and clearing your browser data removes it.
  • Technical and usage information. Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. Advertising and, where enabled, analytics partners also collect information through cookies as described below.

We do not operate user accounts, and we never ask for your JAMB login, profile code, NIN, bank details or examination results. No legitimate study site needs these.

Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small files a website or its partners place on your device; local storage is a similar browser feature. Belmadeng itself uses local storage to remember your practice progress and settings. Third parties — principally our advertising provider — may set cookies as described in the next section. You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings, though blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display advertising, which helps keep Belmadeng free. In connection with this:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to Belmadeng and/or other sites on the internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

Ads never appear inside a practice test while you are answering questions. For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" and Google's advertising policies.

Analytics

Belmadeng uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the site — for example which guides and practice pages are most useful — so we can improve them. GA4 sets analytics cookies and collects standard usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from a truncated, anonymised IP address), device and browser type, and how visitors move between pages. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site — never to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with the on-device practice data described above.

This data is processed by Google on our behalf; see Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles it. You can opt out by blocking or clearing cookies in your browser, or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the Nigeria Data Protection Act, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). These can include the right to access, correct or delete personal information, and to opt out of personalised advertising or the "sale/sharing" of personal information.

  • Everyone: control cookies in your browser and manage ad personalisation via the opt-out links above.
  • EU/UK visitors: where required, Google presents a consent choice for advertising cookies before they are used; you can change your choice at any time.
  • California residents: you may exercise "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" choices through the ad opt-out links above.
  • To exercise any right regarding information we hold, email [email protected].

Children's privacy

Belmadeng is a general-audience educational site, and we know many of our visitors are secondary-school students, some of whom are under 18. We do not require or knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not build our own profiles of any visitor. Advertising shown to users identified as below the applicable age is restricted in line with Google's policies. If you are under 18, please do not send us personal details by email beyond what is needed to answer a question, and involve a parent or guardian where appropriate. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and security

We keep emails you send only for as long as needed to handle your request. On-device practice data stays until you clear it. We take reasonable measures to protect information, and the site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Third-party links

Our pages may link to official portals (such as jamb.gov.ng) and other external sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves or as advertising and analytics settings change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date, and any new data practice will be described before it takes effect.
