The Voter Verification Service
INEC’s Voter Verification Service (VVS) at cvr.inecnigeria.org/vvs lets you confirm whether you’re on the register, see your polling unit, and track your PVC.
How to check
- Open cvr.inecnigeria.org/vvs.
- Choose a method: name + date of birth, or your Voter Identification Number (VIN).
- Select your State of Registration and enter your details.
- Click Check Status.
What the results mean
- Verified — your PVC is ready or already issued.
- Pending — your registration is still being processed.
- Not Found — you’re not on the register (you may need to register or complete your registration).
Give it time
After registering, allow about 14–30 days for INEC to update its database before your record appears. If it still doesn’t show after 30 days, return to your LGA office with your slip.

Checking with the Voter Verification Service

On the official INEC CVR portal's verification page, you typically verify using either your name plus date of birth, or your Voter Identification Number (VIN). A successful check confirms you're on the register and shows your registration details and polling information. This is the authoritative way to confirm your status — and to check that your PVC is ready or find your collection centre where that's supported.
Allow time after registering
Don't panic if you check immediately after registering and see nothing. INEC needs time to process and sync new registrations into the database, so allow roughly a couple of weeks to a month for your record to appear. If you registered very recently, simply wait and check again after that period. Verifying in good time before an election is wise — it leaves room to fix any issue — but checking the very next day after registering will often just show that the sync hasn't happened yet.
If your name isn't showing
If your name still doesn't appear after enough time, the usual causes are straightforward: you picked the wrong State of registration when checking (use the state where you registered, not where you now live), you mistyped your name or entered the date of birth in the wrong format, or you never completed the physical registration (online pre-registration alone doesn't count).
