Please note

Belmadeng is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with WAEC or NECO. In Nigeria, “GCE” means the WAEC GCE and NECO GCE for private candidates. Register and check results only on the official WAEC (waec.org.ng, waecdirect.org) and NECO (neco.gov.ng, results.neco.gov.ng) websites, and never enter your details on look-alike sites.

Which GCE did you sit?

You check your result on the portal of the body you registered with — WAEC or NECO. Have your examination/registration number and your result-checker PIN/token ready.

WAEC GCE result

Check at waecdirect.org: enter your 10-digit exam number, select the year and Private Candidate (GCE) type, then enter your PIN and serial (from a scratch card or e-PIN). Full steps: how to check your WAEC result.

NECO GCE result

Check at results.neco.gov.ng: select the year and SSCE External/GCE type, then enter your 12-digit token and registration number. Full steps: how to check your NECO result.

When results are released

GCE results are typically released around 45–60 days after the last paper. WAEC GCE First Series results usually arrive around March/April; NECO and WAEC Second Series results arrive toward the end of the year/early the next year. Confirm on the official sites.

Stay safe

Use only waecdirect.org and results.neco.gov.ng, and buy PINs/tokens only from official channels. Ignore look-alike sites and never pay for a “result upgrade”.

Check on the right body's portal

Where you check depends on which GCE you sat. For WAEC GCE, use WAEC's official result portal (waecdirect.org). For NECO GCE, use NECO's official results portal (results.neco.gov.ng). If you sat both, you'll check each on its own body's portal. Always type the official address yourself and confirm you're on the genuine site, since look-alike portals exist to steal details and money.

What you need for each

The requirements differ slightly by body:

Enter every detail exactly, and save or print your result for records and admission uploads.

Staying safe when checking

Result season attracts fraud, so: buy tokens/e-PINs only from official channels (fake or used ones won't work); never enter your details on imitation sites; and ignore anyone offering to “check for you,” sell cheap PINs, or “upgrade” results — no one can legitimately change a grade. If a result won't display with correct details, it may be a PIN/token issue, still processing, or withheld — use the body's official support rather than a “fixer.”
