Please note
Belmadeng is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with NECO. This is an informational guide — register and check results only on the official NECO websites (neco.gov.ng and results.neco.gov.ng), buy your result token only on the official portal, and never enter your details on look-alike sites.
Invalid token
Almost always a typing mistake — confusing 0 (zero) with O, or 1 (one) with l. Copy-paste the 12-digit token from the “My Tokens” section of your account rather than typing it. If it still fails, contact the seller or email [email protected].
Result not found
Re-check your 10-character registration number (8 digits + 2 letters) and the exam year. If they are correct, your result may not be released yet for your exam type — check back later.
Result withheld
“Withheld” means NECO has flagged your result for investigation, usually over suspected malpractice at your centre — it does not necessarily mean you personally cheated. Log in and raise a support ticket, and ask your school for guidance.
Load error
This happens when too many candidates hit the portal at once. Switch to a different browser or try at an off-peak time (late night).
Checks exhausted
Each token works up to 5 times. After that, buy a new token, or use NECO e-Verify if an institution needs to confirm your result.
Wrong year or exam type
Selecting the wrong year or type (SSCE Internal vs SSCE External/GCE vs BECE vs NCEE) returns nothing — pick the exact exam you sat.
Stay safe
Use only results.neco.gov.ng and buy tokens only on the official portal. Never use “agents” who claim to fix or upgrade results — that is fraud.
Quick fixes to try first
Most “my result won't show” cases are simple input or timing issues. Run through these first:
- Check your details — registration number typed exactly, correct exam year and exam type (SSCE Internal vs External/GCE) selected.
- Check your token — entered correctly, genuine, and not already exhausted.
- Try again later — the portal can be slow or overloaded just after results are released.
A large share of failed checks are fixed by correcting one of these.
When it's withheld or pending
If your details are right but the result still doesn't appear normally, it may be withheld or still processing. A withheld result means NECO has flagged something (often relating to exam conduct at your centre) that needs resolving before release — it isn't automatically a final decision. A pending/“not available” status can mean your result is still being processed in a later batch. Neither is fixed by buying more tokens; both need the correct official channel, not a “fixer.”
When to contact NECO
If quick fixes don't work and the issue isn't a simple typo, use official NECO support (the contact lines/email on the official site) or, for school candidates, your school's exam officer, who can liaise with NECO. Explain clearly, quoting your registration number and exam details. Avoid social-media “agents” promising to “release” or “upgrade” results — they can't, and you risk losing money or your data. Genuine result problems are only resolved through NECO itself.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my NECO result not showing?
Common causes are an invalid token (a typo), a wrong registration number or year, the result not being released yet, a withheld status, or portal overload.
My NECO token says invalid — what do I do?
Check for 0 vs O and 1 vs l, and copy-paste the token from ‘My Tokens’. If it persists, contact the seller or email
[email protected].
What does ‘result not found’ mean on NECO?
Usually a wrong registration number or year, or the result has not been released yet for your exam type. Re-check and try again later.
Why is my NECO result withheld?
NECO has flagged it for investigation, typically over suspected malpractice at the centre. Raise a support ticket and consult your school.
‘Checks exhausted’ — what now?
Your token has been used its five times. Buy a new token, or use NECO e-Verify for institutional confirmation.
Why is my NECO result not showing?
Usually an input or timing issue — wrong registration number, wrong exam year or type selected, an incorrect or exhausted token, or a slow/overloaded portal just after release. Correcting one of these fixes most cases; if not, it may be withheld or still processing.
What does a withheld NECO result mean?
That NECO has flagged something — often relating to exam conduct at your centre — that must be resolved before the result is released. It isn't automatically a final decision, and it's resolved through official channels, not by buying more tokens.
My NECO result says 'not available' — why?
A pending or 'not available' status often means your result is still being processed and may be released in a later batch. Check again later through the official portal; if it persists, contact NECO support with your registration details.
Will buying another token fix a result that won't show?
No — if the problem is a withheld or pending result, or wrong details, more tokens won't help. Fix your input first; for withheld/pending statuses, use official NECO support or your school's exam officer.
Who do I contact about a NECO result problem?
Official NECO support (the contact lines/email on the official site), or for school candidates your school's exam officer, who can liaise with NECO. Quote your registration number and exam details, and avoid social-media 'agents' — they can't release or upgrade results.
