Applying is free — no one legitimate charges a fee, and no agent can “guarantee” your loan. Amounts, terms and eligibility change — confirm the current details on the official portal.

Interest-free

NELFUND is a 0% interest loan — you repay only the exact amount you borrowed, with no interest added.

When repayment starts

Repayment begins two years after you complete NYSC — giving you a grace period to find your feet after graduation and service.

How you repay (10%)

  • If you're employed, 10% of your salary is deducted by your employer and remitted.
  • If you're self-employed, you remit 10% of your monthly profit.

If you're still unemployed

If you're still unemployed two years after NYSC, you must submit a sworn court affidavit every three months notifying NELFUND until you secure a job — so repayment tracks your actual ability to pay.

If you withdraw or leave

If you withdraw or are expelled, NELFUND will require repayment arrangements — contact the Fund before withdrawing to understand your obligations.

Tips

  • Repayment is income-based — tied to earning.
  • Keep NELFUND informed of your status.
  • Borrow only what you need — you repay it.
