Please note

Belmadeng is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with WAEC. This is an informational guide — register and check results only on the official WAEC websites (waec.org.ng and waecdirect.org), buy result-checker PINs only from authorised vendors, and never enter your details on look-alike sites.

The official WAEC sites

“WAEC portal” can mean several different official sites, each with its own job:

  • waec.org.ng — the main information site (news, timetable, syllabus).
  • waecdirect.org — the result-checking portal.
  • waeconline.org.ng — the registration platform.
  • serial-pin.waec.org — serial number & PIN retrieval.
  • WAEC’s verification/confirmation service for institutions.

The result portal (waecdirect)

There is no personal “account” login to check a result — you use your examination number plus a PIN and serial. See how to check your result.

The registration portal

Registration (school or private/GCE) is done on WAEC’s online registration platform, where you create a profile and register subjects.

PIN & serial retrieval

If you have lost your serial number or PIN, WAEC provides an official serial/PIN retrieval service (serial-pin.waec.org). Use only this official route.

The verification portal

Schools, universities and employers confirm and verify results through WAEC’s official verification/confirmation service.

Stay safe

Only use these official WAEC domains. Look-alike “portals” steal PINs and money — ignore links from strangers, and never pay for a “result upgrade” (that is fraud).

Which WAEC portal for which task

WAEC uses different official sites for different jobs, so going to the right one avoids confusion:

Reach all of them from WAEC's official channels, and check the web address carefully — copycat sites exist.

Fixing access issues

Common problems and fixes: if a portal is slow or won't load, it's usually overloaded right after results are released — wait and retry at off-peak times; if you forgot a password for a registration account, use the reset option and check your email (including spam); if a result check fails, most issues are actually wrong exam details or a PIN problem rather than login — see result not showing. Use a stable connection and double-check every digit you enter.

Staying safe online

Protect your details and money: type the official address yourself instead of clicking links from messages or search ads; never enter your examination number, NIN or PIN on look-alike sites designed to steal them; buy PINs only through official WAEC channels, banks or authorised agents; and ignore anyone offering to “check for you,” sell cheap PINs, or “upgrade” results. The genuine WAEC sites and the nearest WAEC office are the only reliable sources — when unsure, stop and verify before entering anything.

Frequently asked questions

“WAEC portal” can mean several official sites: waec.org.ng (info), waecdirect.org (results), the online registration platform, and the PIN-retrieval and verification services.
Is there a WAEC login for checking results?
No personal account login — you check results on waecdirect.org using your examination number plus a PIN and serial number.
What is waecdirect.org?
It is WAEC’s official result-checking portal, where you enter your exam number, year, type, PIN and serial to view your result.
How do I retrieve my WAEC PIN or serial number?
Use WAEC’s official serial/PIN retrieval service at serial-pin.waec.org.
What is the WAEC registration portal?
WAEC’s online registration platform, where school and private (GCE) candidates create a profile and register their subjects.
What is the WAEC result portal address?
The official result-checking portal is waecdirect.org. Registration and buying result-checker PINs are done on WAEC's online registration site (e.g. waeconline.org.ng / the official WAEC Nigeria site), and there's a separate serial/PIN retrieval service. Reach all from official channels and check the address carefully.
Which WAEC portal do I use for what?
waecdirect.org for checking results; WAEC's online registration site for registration and buying result-checker PINs; and WAEC's serial/PIN retrieval service (using your details + NIN) to retrieve a serial and PIN. Using the right one avoids confusion.
Why can't I access the WAEC portal?
Often it's overloaded just after results release (wait and retry off-peak), or a forgotten password on a registration account (use reset, check email/spam). For result checks, most 'can't get in' issues are actually wrong exam details or a PIN problem — see our 'result not showing' guide.
The WAEC portal won't load — what should I do?
It's usually heavy traffic right after results are released — wait and try again at off-peak times, confirm you're on the correct official address (waecdirect.org), and use a stable internet connection.
How do I stay safe on WAEC portals?
Type the official address yourself instead of clicking links from messages or ads, never enter your examination number/NIN/PIN on look-alike sites, buy PINs only through official WAEC channels/banks/authorised agents, and ignore anyone offering to check for you or 'upgrade' results.
