What the timetable is
The WAEC timetable is the official schedule of every subject’s papers, dates, times and durations. WAEC releases it before the exams, and it is the single source of truth for when you sit each paper.
When WAEC 2026 holds
Confirm the official dates. The 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates began in late March 2026 and ran over several weeks; the GCE series have their own timetables. Dates change — always confirm on waec.org.ng and through your school.
How to read it
For each subject you’ll usually see up to three components: Paper 1 (objective/CBT), Paper 2 (essay/theory), and, for sciences and some subjects, a practical or test-of-practical. Note the date, start time and duration of each, and watch for two subjects on the same day.
CBT & sessions
As WAEC moves objective papers to computer-based testing, some candidates are scheduled in morning or afternoon sessions. Check your session carefully and arrive early.
Planning tips
- Get the official timetable only — fake timetables circulate every year.
- Plan revision backward from each exam date.
- Give extra time to practical subjects and to English and Maths.
- Prepare with topic-by-topic study — see our Study Centre and CBT practice.
