Who registers
The NECO SSCE Internal (June/July) is for current SS3 students in recognised secondary schools. Your school handles registration on the official NECO portal (ssceinternal.neco.gov.ng).
Requirements
- A clear passport photograph.
- Correct bio-data — your name must match your other documents.
- A valid NIN and biometric (fingerprint) capture.
- Your chosen subjects (English and Mathematics compulsory).
How registration works
- Your school logs into the NECO SSCE Internal portal with its credentials.
- It registers each student — bio-data, subjects, photo and biometrics.
- Fees are paid and the school submits.
Fees
NECO SSCE Internal fees vary by state and are non-refundable (some states pay on behalf of their students). Fees change yearly, so confirm the current amount through your school and the official NECO channels, and pay early.
Deadline
NECO announces the registration window months ahead, closing weeks before the exams. Register early — corrections after submission are costly and time-consuming.
Now computer-based
For 2026 the Federal Government directed that NECO examinations be fully computer-based (CBT). Get comfortable answering on a computer — our free CBT practice is ideal preparation.
Mistakes to avoid
- Name/DOB mismatch with your other documents.
- Wrong subjects for your intended course — check subject requirements.
