What the certificate is
The WAEC certificate is the physical WASSCE certificate issued after your results. It is a key document for university admission, jobs, scholarships and travel, and it is more authoritative than a result printout.
How to collect it
School candidates collect their certificate from their school; private/GCE candidates obtain theirs directly from WAEC (often on request through the WAEC platform). Certificates are usually ready some months after results.
If it’s lost or damaged
WAEC generally produces each certificate once, and a certificate lost after collection is not simply reprinted. However, you can obtain a confirmation/attestation of your result for institutions and employers. Report a loss with a police report/affidavit and follow WAEC’s official procedure.
