Please note
Belmadeng is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with NECO, WAEC or any State Ministry of Education. The BECE (Junior WAEC) is conducted by NECO (federal) and by State Ministries of Education. Register and check results only on the official channels (NECO: neco.gov.ng and results.neco.gov.ng; your state board or your school), and never enter details on look-alike sites.
Which BECE did you write?
How you check depends on whether you sat the NECO (federal) BECE or your state BECE — ask your school if you’re unsure. See NECO vs state BECE.
NECO BECE result (step by step)
- Go to results.neco.gov.ng.
- Select the examination year (e.g. 2026).
- Select Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) as the type.
- Enter your token and registration number.
- Click Check Result, then print or save it.
The token works like the one in our NECO token guide (buy on the official portal, usable a few times).
State BECE result
- If your state has an online portal, check there with the PIN/token it provides.
- If your state has no portal, results are sent to school principals — so check through your school.
When results come out
Results are usually released some weeks after the exam (the 2026 NECO BECE, written in late April, was released in June). State timelines vary — follow your school and the official channels.
Stay safe
For NECO, use only results.neco.gov.ng and buy tokens on the official portal. For state results, use only your state’s official portal or your school. Ignore look-alike sites.
Check on the right platform
The first rule of checking a BECE result: use the platform of the body that conducted it. A NECO BECE result is checked on NECO's official portal; a State BECE result is checked on that state's own BECE portal. Using the wrong platform is the most common reason a result “won't show.” If you're not sure which body your child sat, confirm with the school first, then go to the matching official portal — and always type the address yourself to avoid look-alike sites.
Checking a NECO BECE result
For the NECO BECE, results are checked on NECO's official results portal. The steps mirror other NECO results: select BECE as the exam type and the correct year, enter the candidate's registration number, and enter the token (NECO's digital PIN). Then check, and save or print the result for the school and records. Buy the token only from the official portal or genuinely approved channels, and enter every detail carefully.
Checking a State BECE result
For a State BECE, use your state's dedicated BECE portal — each state runs its own website and process, so the exact steps and any PIN/access requirement vary by state. Generally you'll enter the candidate's examination/registration number and any access detail the state requires, for the correct year. The school or the state's Ministry of Education can point you to the official state portal. As always, use only the official state site and keep a printed copy of the result once it displays.
