Please note
Belmadeng is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with NECO, WAEC or any State Ministry of Education. The BECE (Junior WAEC) is conducted by NECO (federal) and by State Ministries of Education. Register and check results only on the official channels (NECO: neco.gov.ng and results.neco.gov.ng; your state board or your school), and never enter details on look-alike sites.
NECO: invalid token
Usually a typing mistake — confusing 0 (zero) with O or 1 (one) with l. Copy-paste the 12-digit token from your account, and buy tokens only on the official portal. (See our NECO token guide.)
NECO: result not found
Re-check your registration number and that you selected the correct year and the BECE exam type. If they’re right, the result may not be released yet — check back later.
NECO: withheld
A withheld result has been flagged for investigation. Raise a support ticket through the official channel and ask your school for guidance.
NECO: portal busy
On result-release day the portal can be slow. Wait, use a different browser, and try at an off-peak time.
State: result not online
Some states don’t publish results online — they send them to school principals. If you can’t find a state portal, check with your school. If your state has a portal, make sure you have the correct PIN and details.
Stay safe
Use only results.neco.gov.ng (for NECO) or your state’s official portal, and never pay strangers to “release” or “upgrade” a result.
Quick checks to run
Most BECE result problems are simple. Run through these first:
- Registration number — typed exactly as on the candidate's slip.
- Year and exam type — correct year, and BECE selected (for NECO).
- Token/access detail — entered correctly, genuine, and not already used (for platforms that need one).
- Portal load — try again off-peak if it's slow or shows a load error.
Correcting one of these fixes the majority of cases.
The BECE-specific trap: checking on the wrong body's platform. A State BECE result won't appear on NECO's portal, and vice versa. So confirm which body conducted the exam (ask the school if unsure) and use that body's official platform — NECO's portal for NECO BECE, the correct state's portal for a State BECE. If a result “won't show” despite correct details, the platform mismatch is a prime suspect. See result checker for the right route.
Getting help
If the basics are right and it still won't display, the result may be still processing (released in stages) or need follow-up. Go through the school first — it can confirm the correct platform and liaise with the exam body — or use the relevant body's official support (NECO's channels, or the state Ministry of Education for a State BECE). Quote the candidate's registration number and details. Avoid anyone promising to “release” or “upgrade” a BECE result for a fee; that's not how it works.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my BECE result not showing?
For NECO: usually an invalid token, wrong registration number/year/type, a withheld status, or portal overload. For state exams: your state may not publish online — check with your school.
My NECO BECE token is invalid — what do I do?
Check for 0 vs O and 1 vs l, copy-paste the token, and confirm you bought it from the official portal.
My state BECE result is not online — why?
Some states send results to school principals instead of publishing online. Check with your school; if a portal exists, ensure you have the correct PIN.
What does a withheld BECE result mean?
It has been flagged for investigation — raise a support ticket through the official channel and consult your school.
Where do I check a BECE result safely?
results.neco.gov.ng for the NECO BECE, or your state’s official portal/school for the state BECE. Avoid look-alike sites.
Why is my BECE result not showing?
Usually a fixable issue — a mistyped registration number, wrong year or exam type, an incorrect/used token, or a congested portal. The BECE-specific trap is checking on the wrong body's platform (NECO vs State). Correcting one of these fixes most cases.
My BECE result won't show even with correct details — why?
A likely cause is a platform mismatch — a State BECE result won't appear on NECO's portal, and vice versa. Confirm which body conducted the exam (ask the school), then use that body's official platform. The result may also still be processing.
Am I using the right BECE platform?
Check which body conducted the exam: NECO BECE results are on NECO's portal; State BECE results are on that state's own portal. Using the wrong one is a common reason a result won't show — the school can confirm which body applies.
What if my BECE result is still processing?
Results are sometimes released in stages, so check again later on the correct official platform. If it persists, go through the school (which can liaise with the exam body) or the relevant body's official support, quoting the candidate's registration number.
Who do I contact about a BECE result problem?
The school first — it can confirm the correct platform and liaise with the exam body — or the relevant body's official support (NECO's channels, or the state Ministry of Education for a State BECE). Avoid anyone offering to 'release' or 'upgrade' results for a fee.
