The NECO BECE usually holds around April/May. For 2026, NECO released the timetable in early April and the examination ran from about 20 to 30 April 2026, with a re-sit for Maths/English on 22–23 July 2026. See the re-sit guide.

Each state sets its own BECE timetable, so dates vary widely from state to state (some hold in May/June, others later). Your state board and school announce the exact dates.

Which timetable applies
Because the BECE is run by different bodies, there isn't a single national timetable. NECO BECE follows NECO's timetable; State BECE follows that state's own timetable. So the first step is knowing which BECE your child is sitting, then using the matching official timetable. The school will have the correct one, and state education ministries publish their own schedules. Don't rely on another state's or body's dates — confirm the timetable for the exact BECE being sat.
