What Linguistics is about
Linguistics is the scientific study of language itself — how languages are structured, how sounds and meanings work, how languages are learned, and how they change and vary.

As a science of language, linguistics underpins language teaching, translation and increasingly language technology such as speech recognition and natural language processing.
What you will study
You study phonetics and phonology, morphology and syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics, and often a Nigerian language and computational linguistics — with a project.
