How NABTEB works

NABTEB awards the NBC and NTC (business and technical certificates). School candidates sit the May/June exam; private candidates sit the Nov/Dec exam. You take theory and practical papers per the timetable, then check your result at eworld.nabteb.gov.ng with a scratch-card PIN. You read it on the A1–F9 scale, collect your certificate, and use your credits for admission — NABTEB is accepted alongside WAEC and NECO. There is also an advanced certificate (ANBC/ANTC).

Is NABTEB accepted for university admission?
Yes — NABTEB's NBC and NTC are listed by JAMB and accepted by most universities, polytechnics and colleges of technology as an O'Level equivalent to WAEC and NECO.
What is the difference between NBC and NTC?
The NBC (National Business Certificate) is for business and commercial students; the NTC (National Technical Certificate) is for technical and engineering-trade students. Both are awarded by NABTEB and are equivalent for admission.
Does NABTEB use the same grading as WAEC?
Yes — NABTEB uses the same A1–F9 nine-point scale as WAEC and NECO, with a credit being C6 and above.
