What the Senate list is

The Senate list (or Academic Board list for polytechnics) is the official list of qualified graduates that your institution uploads to NYSC. It confirms you graduated and are eligible to be mobilised.

Why it matters

You cannot complete registration if your name is not on the Senate list. It is the very first checkpoint in the process — everything else (call-up letter, camp, posting) depends on it.

How to check your name

  1. Go to the official NYSC portal.
  2. Open the “Check Senate list” / verification option under mobilisation.
  3. Enter the required details (such as your institution and matriculation number).
  4. Confirm that your name, course and details appear correctly.

If your name is missing

  • The most common cause is that your institution has not yet uploaded it, or uploaded it with an error.
  • Contact your school’s NYSC/exams & records unit and ask them to upload or correct your details.
  • Corrections (spelling, addition/removal of name) are handled by the institution, sometimes alongside the correction of data option.
  • Follow up early — registration windows are short.
