What the Senate list is
The Senate list (or Academic Board list for polytechnics) is the official list of qualified graduates that your institution uploads to NYSC. It confirms you graduated and are eligible to be mobilised.
Why it matters
You cannot complete registration if your name is not on the Senate list. It is the very first checkpoint in the process — everything else (call-up letter, camp, posting) depends on it.
How to check your name
- Go to the official NYSC portal.
- Open the “Check Senate list” / verification option under mobilisation.
- Enter the required details (such as your institution and matriculation number).
- Confirm that your name, course and details appear correctly.
If your name is missing
- The most common cause is that your institution has not yet uploaded it, or uploaded it with an error.

What the Senate list is
The Senate list (or Senate-approved graduation list) is the official list your institution sends to NYSC confirming that you have graduated and are eligible for mobilisation. It's the bridge between finishing school and being called up: NYSC mobilises from this list, so if your name isn't on it, you won't be mobilised in that batch — no matter how complete your portal registration is. It's generated by your school, based on your academic records, not by NYSC.

If your name is missing
An omission is fixed at its source: your institution's records/exams office, not NYSC. Because the list comes from the school, only the school can add or correct your entry and formally communicate it to NYSC — NYSC does not add names on request. So contact your department and the records office, confirm your records are complete and your name was included, and have them rectify and re-send if it wasn't. Crucially, no one can “upload” you to the Senate list for a fee — anyone claiming so, especially online “agents,” is scamming you.
