Eligibility & the age rule
To register for NYSC you must be a graduate of an accredited Nigerian (or foreign) tertiary institution whose name is on the Senate/Academic Board list. Age is judged at graduation, not at registration: if you were under 30 at graduation you serve; if you were 30 or above, you receive an exemption certificate instead. Part-time graduates receive an exclusion letter.

- Upload your passport photograph and complete thumb-printing yourself (never by proxy).
- Submit, and pay any required fee via Remita.
- Await your call-up letter.
Registration fee
The online registration itself is generally free, but services such as call-up letter printing and correction of data attract Remita fees. Always confirm the current charges on the official portal before paying, and never pay outside it.
Deadlines & batches
NYSC mobilises in batches (A, B and C, each often in streams) with a fixed registration window announced for each. For example, the 2026 Batch C online registration window ran 7–13 September 2026. Foreign-trained graduates
Foreign-trained graduates complete online registration and then appear in person for physical verification, presenting original degree certificates, transcripts and travel documents; exempted foreign-trained graduates collect their certificate at NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.

On the NYSC portal you'll choose the path that matches your situation. Fresh registration is for prospective corps members who have never registered or been deployed before. Remobilisation is for those who were previously mobilised but absconded or were disengaged and need to re-enter service. Pick the correct one — starting fresh when you should remobilise (or vice versa) creates problems. Foreign-trained graduates also register through NYSC, with additional documents. Registration happens only when a batch window is open, so time it to the announced schedule.
